Hello everyone, sorry about taking so long to getting back to you. I want to thank everyone that made it to the State Convention and Thanks to the Burlington Eagle Riders for the Great ride they had planned for us. We had 38 in attendance and it was nice to here from everyone on there thoughts and ideas.

 

       Iowa Eagle Riders State Rally

 The Des Moines Eagle Riders will be hosting the first Iowa Eagle Riders State Rally. This Rally will be on October 2nd, 3rd and 4th at the Des Moines Eagles Club. This will be the first rally here in Iowa so we are going to try to make it a good one. The planning has started and there will be more information in the near future on events and lodging. The Des Moines Eagle Riders would like to have an estimate on how many will be coming. You can contact the Des Moines Eagle Riders President (Ken Grove) at kegme45@hotmail.com . I will try to get a flier to to send out so that the whole state will know. To make this rally a success we will probably need a donation from all the groups   to be determined at a later time. I know that we have all just donated to the state and there are some groups that are just starting out. So we will try to keep this as small as possible. When I get more information I will pass it on.

 At the State Convention we learned the Poker Runs here in Iowa are actually not in compliance if you hand out cards at the different stops unless they have a gambling license. The best way to do your Poker Runs is to have a card or paper that is stamped or marked at each stop showing that people made the ride. Then the cards would be drawn back at your club. If this is confusing please let me know and I will help you out.

 We are looking at having a giveaway next year. We are trying to get ideas now and we won't start selling any raffle tickets til after the the first of the year. We will discuss this more at the State Rally. So bring your ideas.

 For those that are going to Sturgis, have fun and ride safe. When I get more information on the State Rally I will pass it on.
